Senior Java Backend Developer (Toronto)
We’re looking for a top notch senior backend developer in the Greater Toronto Area. If you want to work where your development talent is understood and appreciated, we’re the place for you!
You’d be joining our team in order to architect and code the Java server component of our upcoming Facebook / iPhone game. The server should scale to thousands of concurrent users and help facilitate real-time socket communications between the game clients.
As such, you should have experience in building applications that are sensitive to scalability, database performance, caching, security and all the other wonderful things that come along with creating high-load solutions. You know, the tough stuff!
As a member of a small, focused development team, you’ll be expected to own large portions of our server code, but you’ll also have the opportunity to dabble in client-side web development as well as any other part of the project that may interest you.

Senior Web Ninja (Toronto)
You’ve slaved on code for weeks, creating a robust back-end and a beautiful front-end. You’ve optimized latency and download size, and minimized access to the database. But the site goes live and … there’s no-one there. It’s just you, your 10 customers, and a bunch of crickets. Crickets don’t care about latency, and they sure can’t appreciate your snappy UI. You’re not sorry for all the hard work you put in. After all, you’ve learned a lot along the way. But you can’t help but feel frustrated.

We’re looking for someone with a lot of experience in both front and back-end web development. We use JQuery on the front-end and PHP/MySQL on the back-end, but will accept any candidate with equivalent background. We’ll be on the lookout for candidates that have a solid understanding and a proven track record of scaling web applications. We’ll also appreciate your passion for making products that are both fun and extremely easy to use.
